What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

DESCRIPTION: Jesus’ death put His Will into effect… but it didn’t stop there…
TRANSCRIPT: good morning everybody this is john fenn, church without walls international, yes you’ll notice i’m outside the background’s a little different i’m still here in the netherlands after our 2022 conference house church conference we saw 15 we had 15 nations represented uh this spring it’s so good because it’s been now our third year it’s been a couple years since we’ve seen everybody so it was uh seeing old old friends again and making new friends as well and it’s just a blessed time you really need to plan to come to some of our meetings our our conferences and visit our website if you sign up for our weekly thoughts which is a weekly teaching that comes out every friday in my monthly e-newsletter those are the places we put news of our conferences our web meetings things of that nature you want to learn just about the balanced teaching of becoming a disciple of the lord and more about house church the biblical way of rotating homes and rotating who leads and and uh and and such then visit us cwowi.org but today i know i look tired right it’s been a long long week but it’s been a rich week and anyway so today talking about jesus becoming the executor of his own estate you know if you are have lived very long if you have experienced anything perhaps yourself that when grandma dies or grandpa dies or mom dad whoever the case is uh oftentimes it’s a long process and then there is at some time after their death the reading of the will and people that you haven’t heard from in ages people that were never involved in their care in feeding you know during the last years of their life come out of the woodwork because they want some money they want something that that that was possessed that was owned by it was their property or or something like that and it’s like where have you been you weren’t anywhere in the last two years where i’ve been helping grandma or grandpa or whatever the case is but you know people want to know what the provision is in that last will and testament and the writer of hebrews in hebrews chapter 9 verses 15 through 18 makes the point that uh he talked about the old testament sacrifice and he talks about how in verse i think 1819 how the the death of the old testament sacrifice the the death of the animal you know the sheep the the goat the ox whatever the case is the animal had to die and shed its blood before the provision was revealed or the provision was was realized by the death of that animal so the animal had to die for the person to receive the benefits of its death and it may he makes the point in hebrews 9 verses 15 16 17 that where there is a last will and testament there has to be the death of the person who made it before that those provisions in that will can go into effect and he’s talking about the person of the lord jesus and so what we have to realize is that when jesus died on the cross he put his last will and testament into effect which is an amazing thing and here’s the good news he rose from the dead so that he could become the executor of his own estate that’s an amazing thing see he he wanted to make sure that he himself oversaw the directions the provision the uh the things that he had in his will for every single one of us so what an amazing plan the father and the lord came up with that jesus would become one of us and then die on the cross to put his last will and testament into effect and then he rose from the dead the father raised him from the dead so that jesus could sit there as the executor of his own estate and oversee the provisions oversee the distribution of assets of his estate to every one of his heirs and that’s what the new testament talks about galatians 3 and in romans 8 that we are heirs of god with christ and so the father designed that jesus would become the executor of his own estate what a crazy plan it’s so crazy it might work you know it’s just it just causes me such joy i just i just love the the idea it’s so it’s so elegant it’s such an elegant solution that that jesus would die to put it into effect and then raised from the dead to oversee the provision so when you go through life and you’re thinking oh you know has there been provision for me you can read second peter chapter one verses three and four that says everything that pertains to life and godliness that means your christian growth everything that you need in life and growing in christ has been provided through him who called us to glory and virtue or through the knowledge you see me of him who’s called this glory and virtue and so you sit there in a situation and you and you say okay what what is the father’s will uh you know is there provision i have this bill that needs to be paid and you can realize that jesus died long ago to put his will into effect then he rose from the dead to oversee him oversee his own estate as executor and make sure that you and i get the provisions that he has in there so you can look and you say thank you father everything that pertains to my life and godliness has been provided through him who called us to glory and virtue and so you can have some rest and have some peace in that that that it’s already been provided for not because of any effort on your part you don’t have to confess it profess it you know just sit there and make it come to pass because people think that’s what faith is which it is not you know you’re going to do this and you’re going to speak it and you’re going to make it come to pass that’s not how it works at all you have to rest you have to relax grace is is receiving provision revelation from the father god through no no actions of ourselves so it’s an amazing thing to think about and here’s the thing there’s no squabbles you know because jesus is the executor of his own estate so he has the final word he knows what he put into his last will and testament for you and i i mean like you just can’t can you imagine if grandma and grandpa died and they want to test and see what everybody’s motives are and everything else grandma and grandpa died and then here comes the reading of the will and here comes grandma and grandpa out of the office says okay now we’re going to sit down and you’re going to see everything that i provided for each of you not going to be any squabbles but nobody’s going to be left out imagine how perfect that would be if you could sit there in that room and here comes jesus and he says this is what i provided for you everything that pertains to life and godliness you need to grow up in me i’ve provided it in my last will and testament you have a need in your life a bill and you’re not in your life i provided it through my last will and testament i’ve put it into effect by my death and now i’m overseeing it to make sure you get the provision that you need in life what an amazing thing so there’s so much more that we could go into but i encourage you to read that in hebrews chapter 9 find a version of the bible that’s easy to read that explains it in everyday language and you’ll see that jesus died to put his will into effect that he rose from the dead uh appearing before the father hebrews 9 23 he says he didn’t enter into the holy place made with hands he went into heaven before the father god to be declared righteous and and put his last will and and testament into effect and then the father appointed him executor over his own estate so that the name of at the name of jesus every knee shall bow of things in heaven and earth under the earth that every tongue confesses jesus is lord what am an amazing thing so today whatever you’re going through you think father god it’s been provided for thank you for that because jesus died to put his will into effect i will never doubt it again it’s just a matter of directing me properly into your provision for me of what was in your last will and testament and thank you lord jesus that you’re overseeing it now to make sure that i get everything that you’ve provided for me how amazing that is all right god bless everybody talk to you later bye

An international house church network founded by John and Barbara Fenn in 2001, which focuses on practicing Christianity based on the model found throughout the New Testament.

Who We Are
“Not that we would have dominion over your faith, but rather are helpers of your joy, for by your own faith you stand (II Cor 1:24) We believe the practice of home based churches as depicted in the book of Acts and Paul’s letters is normal Christianity. These churches revolve around friends, neighbors, and co-workers meeting regularly for the purpose of growing in Christ and letting the Lord’s will be done in their midst.”

What We Do
“Our goal is to help build Godly relationships by helping Christians establish new house churches. CWOWI encourages Christians who do not currently attend “church” to build relationships with the believers around them. CWOWI then uses technology to connect those singular house churches to hundreds worldwide. All affiliated house churches are affiliated under a biblically sound statement of faith. CWOWI also serves as a resource for the church through the ministry of John Fenn and network leaders.”
